San Francisco Fleet Week 2016 Public Affairs Photo Review: Roger Bazeley, USCGAUX Public Affairs-Photographer D11N October 5th-10 th 2016 Taking place over three consecutive days in the skies above the City’s waterfront, this event attracts over a million people around the Bay. Featuring the United States Navy Blue Angels, the Air Force’s F-22 Raptor, the Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 and, from France, the Breitling Jet Team. Throughout Fleet Week, thousands of visitors climb aboard amphibious carriers, destroyers, USCG cutters and cruisers docked at the Embarcadero to get a glimpse into the day-to-day lives of the sailors serving in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Canadian Navy. The big air shows took place Friday, Saturday and Sunday (with a special Blue Angels practice and fly- overs). Active naval vessels were docked along the Port of San Francisco along the piers with free tours throughout the week. (Pier 30/32: USS SAN DIEGO LPD 22, Pier 15/17: HMCS CALGARY FFH 335, Pier 35: USCGC MELLON WHEC 717, USS MOBILE BAY CG 53) From October 7-9, 2016, 10 am to 5 pm, checked out the Humanitarian Assistance Village on the Marina Green, an interactive demonstration of U.S. Military and Civil capabilities in responding to a disaster including: Mass Care and Shelter, Power and Utilities, Community Response & Rescue, and Environmental Management & Decontamination.
