Agriculture and Allied sector
contribute to about 13.9% in
GDP. Agriculture Department
has to look for various needs and
requirements of the farmers for
productivity.
The Department’s responsibility is to provide best storage area, good quality fertilizers, machinery, tools, pesticides, latest technologies etc, so that the farmers can grow crop very efficiently. The department of Agriculture should provide friendly environment so that the farmers can grab new technology and procedural knowledge easily.
Chhattisgarh department of Agriculture headed
by Shri Brijmohan Agarwal ji totally works for
the upliftment of farmers by providing skill
development training to the farmers.
Brijmohan ji encourage the farmers to do organic
farming and use chemical free fertilizers under
Parampragat Krishi Vikas Yojana.
Various training and guidance are given to the farmers regarding
productivity and cropping through propagandas and other
sources.
The department provides e-portal to all the farmers from where they can gain more information about latest
procedures and techniques.
The farmers can gain information
regarding farming in their own
language, the facility to change
language is provided in the e-portal
website.
The department of agriculture
provides facility to the farmer by
sending information to them
through SMS regarding weather
report and other information that
can be useful to them. For this
farmers have to register in krishi
portal for SMS alert.
By the support of Agriculture
minister Brijmohan Agrawal Ji and
hard work of the farmers,
Chhattisgarh won the prestigious
Krishi Karman Award for year
2013-2014.
