Midwest Chapter of Hedge Funds Care to Host 13th Annual Open Your Heart to the Children Benefit on May 14, 2015 Chicago - May 11, 2015 - On Thursday, May 14, 2015 the Midwest chapter of Hedge Funds Care│Help For Children (HFC) will host its 13th annual Open Your Heart to the Children Benefit at Morgan Manufacturing to raise funds in support of the prevention and treatment of child abuse. The event, hosted by committee co-chairs Jennifer Edgcomb of GEM Realty Capital and Edward Haravon of Spot Trading, will bring together leaders from the hedge fund, proprietary trading, private equity and venture capital communities to unite in support of an important cause. “Since our chapter’s founding in 2002, we’ve raised over $6.5 million to serve the children across the Chicagoland area by funding programs to educate people about, prevent and treat child abuse. We are thrilled to have the support of so many Chicago financial firms and look to significantly increasing this amount dedicated to this critical issue on May 14,” said Edward Haravon, committee co-chair. The event will honor Aurora Investment Management with the 6 th Annual Kelly Lively Memorial Award for outstanding commitment to the prevention and treatment of child abuse. Justin Sheperd, Chief Investment Officer of Aurora Investment Management, will accept the award on behalf of the firm. Representatives from Sheffield Asset Management, L.L.C, last year’s award recipient, including Brian Feltzin, founder and managing member, and Amy Rosenow, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, will be in attendance at the event to present the award to Aurora and Mr. Sheperd. “I am honored to accept the Kelly Lively Memorial award on behalf of my firm, Aurora Investment Management. Together with the Hedge Funds Care organization, its members, and its supporters, we are proud to work together to combat and put an end to child abuse,” said Mr. Sheperd. Also attending the event will be representatives from Midwest Benefactors including: Mesirow Financial Advanced Strategies, GCM Grosvenor, Citadel, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, GEM Realty Capital, Northern Trust, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sheffield Asset Management, Sidley, Austin LLC and Spot Trading.
