A practical, programmatic methodology
Adapted from proven business re-engineering processes
Far more engaging than a consultancy approach
Income Generation & 'The Enterprise Authority'
Each stage is self contained - but builds towards
the development, implementation and operation
of a commercial venture entirely compatible
with the circumstances, objectives and resources
of each Council
Discrete Programme Stages
When engineering detailed strategies and operational processes
that rapidly impact the performance of a business, it's vital to
completely engage the management charged with delivery
The use of a structured programme, combined with proven tools
and techniques, has resolved the paradox of maintaining the
continuity and integrity of operations, whilst re-inventing the business

Introduction & Induction Workshop
A stand-alone packaged workshop for senior andoperational management.
A commercialism discovery day combined with a brief test-drive of some of the tools and techniques used in the rest of the programme
Whilst only a single day, the participants will bechallenged and the case material scopes 'do-able'commercial goals of your Council
The recorded outcomes of the work are a keyelement of the follow-up, formal Report andRecommendations to the Council
Stage 1 Stage 1
Stage 2
Report & Recommendations
We produce this comprehensive document as part of the 'Introduction and Induction Workshop' Package
The key task is for Senior Management to nowdetermine if the commercialism approachto Income Generation is an appropriate strategy
Given this to be the case, Senior Management will be able to assess the viability of the Venturesrecommended in the Report and identify which willbe the subject of the following stages of the Programme
Stage 3
Venture 'Strategies Boardroom'
A potential commercial Venture becomes thecase material for 3 distinct 'Boardroom' worksessions.
These use the system and it's tools that were road tested in the Induction Workshop. Now they are used to develop the structure, strategies and implementation processes.
There are three Boardrooms each focuses on a specific step in the business engineering process.
Stage 4
Venture Review & Approval
For each Venture we produce a comprehensiveBusiness Case for consideration by the SeniorManagement and any appropriate committee.
The goal is to evaluate the implementation viability of the proposed venture, taking into account the circumstances and resources of the Council.
The Business Case scopes:
Purpose : Structure : Product Proposition Markets : Operations : Challenges
Returns & Risks
Stage 5
Business Plan Lab
The proposed Venture has been approved for progress in principle, subject to a detailed BusinessPlan.
The 'Lab' is an intensive and structured work day thatthe Venture team is directed through.
The process makes use of techniques and systems that draw out the collateral of a detailed Business Plan – one that could be pitched to a 3rd party investor.
We structure and prepare the Business Plan as partof the 'Lab' Package
Stage 6
Implementation & Execution Support
Once the Business Plan is 'Approved in Principle' thestrategies now need to be implemented and executed, in a manner that will deliver the plan.
We're familiar and practised in this pivotal stage andrecognise that whilst most Councils have competentand capable people, they are:
1)not yet experienced in building a successful business
2)are likely to be fully committed to their current role
Our support objective is to act as interim VentureTeam partners
