• Kolkata the cultural capital of India .• It has a population of approx 5 million with the

different community living peacefully.• Internationally acclaimed people like Swami

Vivekananda, Rabindra Nath Tagore, Mother Teresa and many others have called Kolkata their ‘home’.

• The people of this city have always been sensitive towards social issues since pre-Independence.

SCOPE OF FUNDRAISING IN KOLKATA

• Since it is one of the fastest growing metropolitan cities in India , people are ready to support a particular noble cause.

• People are more inclined towards the emotional side in their behavioral patterns hence are easy to connect.

• People are less apprehensive about the proper functioning and transparency in terms of the functioning of an NGO.

• Step 1. • Dividing Outreach venue in 5

different sectors. • 1.Business Park• 2. IT Sector• 3. BPO• 4. Shopping Complex• 5. Others ( Bank, Society, exhibition

etc)

• Step 2• Enlisting or getting a list of all the sectors through various means• 1. Google• 2.JustDial• 3.Visiting Cards• 4.Yellow Pages• 5 Existing Data• Step 3• 3.Approaching all of these sectors and ensuring that we get permission from each

sector on monthly basis(It will not only help ActionAid in raising funds diversely but also ensure that we are reaching out to people from different sectors or other walks of life too .

• Step 4• 6.Nurturing or cultivating strategies – to maintain good relationship with those

companies who have stopped giving us permission because of some unknown reason.• Identifying those reasons and engaging them by developing partnerships with them, or

exploring new ways (like activities without fund raising, Street Play, Quiz Competition, Mural painting etc) to secure their long-term interest in ActionAid

• Step 5• Weekly and monthly reporting for Permission Coordinator.
