IACA Board of Directors (BOS) Business Organization Section

The Business Organization Section is open to members who

have the responsibility of business entity registration and non-

profit corporation registration functions in their jurisdictions.

The membership is taking the lead in developing new

technologies affecting the program areas of BOS including e-

government solutions.

The BOS works closely with other organizations with common

interests to effect legal changes and otherwise improve the

operation of business registries in all jurisdictions.

The members of the section serve in advisory roles on a number

of committees of the American Bar Association and the National

Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws.

IACA Board of Directors (STS) Secured Transaction Section

The Secured Transaction Section is open to members who have responsibility for the personal property transaction registry functions in their jurisdiction. The section’s major efforts are focused on the standardization of information requirements and the search results in secured transaction registries in order to give financers greater confidence in lending.

STS played a significant role in shaping provisions in the revisions of Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code while being instrumental in the development and implementation of electronic filing of financing statements pursuant to international standards, lending innovation in the development of e-government solutions in these areas and developing model forms and administrative rules for secured transaction registry functions.

The members of the section work closely with the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws and the Permanent Editorial Board for the Uniform Commercial Code to promote positive changes in, or highlight issues within, the UCC.

IACA Board of Directors

(ITS) Information Technology Section

The Information Technology Section provides a forum for

information systems professionals to share knowledge and

experiences in supporting the filing officers in their respective

jurisdictions.

ITS supports the Business Organization, Secured Transaction

and International Relations sections in recommending best

practices, fostering communications between business and

technical resources and developing and implementing

technology solutions in IACA’s focus areas.

ITS is dedicated to attracting a wide range of technology

professionals to the annual IACA Conference by presenting rich

and relevant session content.

IACA Board of Directors

(IRS) International Relations Section

The International Relations Section provides a

forum for the exchange of information

between countries and service organizations

to assist emerging nations in developing

effective registry systems and to allow IACA

membership to benefit from experiences and

viewpoints of those in similar positions in

foreign nations.
