Criteria for the Covenant Fund✤ Invites risk and imagination;

✤ Engages and serves the needs and hopes of the community in a congregation’s specific ministry context;

✤ Encourages collaboration and partnership between lay and pastoral leadership, or among two or more congregations or presbytery entities.

✤ Initiative proposals should demonstrate creative approaches to ministry and mission that show an understanding of how the world and church are changing, imagines and risks doing ministry in a new way, and encourages collaboration and partnership.

✤ Initiative proposals must include budget, measurable goals, built-in evaluation process, defined outcomes.

Criteria for the Covenant Fund✤ Applications must be a church/entity or multi-church/entity initiative endorsed by

the session of a church or a regional convener of the Presbytery.

✤ Churches/entities wishing to request Covenant Fund support for initiatives must be current in their per capita and general mission payments.

✤ Initiative proposals will be considered for only three consecutive years. Applications must be submitted each year.

✤ Only mission or ministry programs will be considered – no capital expenditures or church budget support.

✤ Maximum amount granted: $25,000.

Great Ends Grants

Diakonos Fund Greek for “one who serves,” Diakonos grants support initiatives that provide for the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God. These dollars sustain hunger relief initiatives, care closets, and other food programs. Grant Range: $400-$2800

The Church Leadership Development Fund Church Leadership grants provide for the maintenance of divine worship by offering resources and gatherings that equip church leaders, e.g. ruling elders, teaching elders, deacons, program staff, volunteers, etc. Grant Range: $300-$2500

Youth Leadership Fund These funds support collaborative youth ministry activities, events, retreats, and various initiatives throughout the Presbytery. Max. Amount: $1000

Peacemaking Fund The Peacemaking Fund resources locally-based initiatives, advocacy efforts, and projects that seek to alleviate violence in our communities. Max. Amount: $1000

Great Ends Grants Criteria for Funding ✤Applications should be received two months prior to the activity.

✤Grants should not be the primary source of funding; applications that demonstrate other sources of funding will be given preference.

✤Grants are not retroactive.

✤Incomplete applications will not be considered.

✤Grant applications must be endorsed by the session of a church or a regional convener of the Presbytery. Endorsing churches must be current in their per capita and general mission giving to the Presbytery.
