Hospice of Santa Barbara’s New CEO

Introduction

In January 2015, David Selberg joined Hospice of Santa Barbara (HSB) as its new CEO after having already served Santa Barbara County nonprofits for over two decades. Mr. Selberg was named to the position after a seven-month search that canvassed more than 300 qualified candidates.

Before joining HSB, David Selberg functioned as the executive director for Pacific Pride Foundation, where he spent a decade in that capacity handling donor engagement and strategic development and ultimately raising more than $900,000 a year for the organization.

He also established strong community relationships and worked with HSB to help deliver care to people dying from AIDS.

Mr. Selberg was excited about the move. In comments made when his new position was announced, he said, “The mission of Hospice of Santa Barbara has touched my life profoundly,” and noted that taking leadership of an organization that ran such “miraculous” programs was a humbling experience.
