“Ben’s Buddies”on behalf of
to support the continuation of advanced drug discovery and therapy efforts
in hopes to end Type 1 Diabetes.
Let’s help “Ben’s Buddies” raise more!
Each year in the United States, more than 15,000 children are diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), an auto-immune disease. The immune system attacks and
destroys cells needed to regulate and convert food nutrients into energy, resulting in precise monitoring
of insulin levels.
Follow the link below to further support this cause in honor of eight year old, Ben, who strongly and bravely
deals with T1 Diabetes.http://www2.jdrf.org/goto/Ben_Buddies
GO BEN!
The Children’s Oncology Ward atSiteman
Cancer Centerto brighten the holiday cheer of children
effected by cancerduring the holidays.
Toys purchased will be distributed by hospital staff to children of all ages.
Children are prohibited from leaving the oncology ward due to extremely weekend immune systems that
result in high risk of attracting viruses, which could potentially, and often times, set back a child’s
remission and progress of tackling cancer. Every child deserves a joyous memory during the holidays,
hopefully toys will bring them a smile.
Contact Stephanie Chambers for questions on how to further support and spread holiday cheer to children
experiencing depression, anxiety and trouble understanding how this unfortunate situation has
affected [email protected]
Stephanie spent the early part of her career interning for the SCC under Arlinda Warren, and would like to continue promoting awareness for children who deserve a much needed joyous
holiday.
