DIDIM HELP-IN-HANDSWORKING IN
PARTNERSHIP WITH
DIDIM TOWN COUNCIL
Didim Help-in-Hands was officially formed as a working group under the guise ofDidim Town Council.
Help-in-Hands is a not for profit organisation .
Focusing on integrating and providing support
to the local community
Ahmet Gürer, who is 70 per cent disabled, was presented the first electric wheelchair at his home, where he lives with his family, in Fevzipaşa, Akbuk.
In attendance when the wheelchair was presented was the Mayor of Didim,
members of the Town Council and the Disabled Association.
Working along side others we can all help make a difference.
Mr Akat, a partially paralysed elderly gentleman
from Doganbey received an orthopaedic bed with memory foam mattress
Since posting this Mr Akat sadly passed away therefore the picture has been removed from the slide

Her mother used to carry her up and down the steps to the
house but now with a new hand rail she has become
independent and found new freedom
Repairing this man’s bike put him back on the road to work
and providing a wheelchair for his wife and food parcels for his family giving them all a Christmas they deserved.

The infants school gets new classrooms, a new roof, new toilets and a total makeover

This marked a very special occasion in the school’s history
A true celebration when all the village turned out to show their appreciation.

Working with Social Services we provide food parcels to the needy
We help fund medical, travelling and living expenses for the families of children suffering from Leukaemia
Balat family get new windows, doors, a new bathroom and kitchen.
This winter the family of eight won’t have to suffer the cold.
There was no internal water supply in the home. This new bathroom was a dream come
true.
Sadly this man lost both legs to diabetes but a new orthopaedic bed with memory foam mattress
makes such a difference
Freedom at last after four years of not being able to go out of the house.

Giving second hand clothes away in the village of Balat
Moving faster! With specially adapted extra
powered wheelchair batteries
Reaching out to the elderly with food parcels and friendship
Taking the clothes out to the village of Akkoy.
Donations come in for Soma mining disaster.
1,000 children benefited from the curtains and blinds for the newly
refurbished Selcuk Ozsoy Ortaokulu
Parcels of new childrens’ clothes to be sent to the Syrian border refugee camps
Built by you at a cost of 27,000TL Didim Disabled Training Centre
In recognition of expatriates support.The plaque at the entrance reads

Sami was overwhelmed with tears of joy when he
received his mobility scooter
Knitted by expatriates over 500 baby's cardigans bonnets and bootees have been donated to
Soke and Didim Hospitals
Another welcome donation of new children's clothes for
Syria
We have also supported expatriate bereaved families.
Due to the sensitivity names will not be published on this presentation.
We don’t need millions to make
a difference
Sometimes a little means a lot.
And these are just a few of the ways we make it all happen.
By organising a dinner dance where 160 people danced the night away
Dignitaries from Aydin turned out to this first fundraising night at the Elegance Hotel
Then there was a treasure hunt
Jubilee Day at the Waterwheel
Even the Queen and Prince Philip turned out to celebrate
Didim’s First Darts Charity Tournament.
Mick Griffiths sadly passed away, however his memory lives on
through H-in-H Annual Darts Championship Trophy
