Introduction Neil Sullivan is the founder and president of Sullivan

Management Company and REO Homes. In addition to renovating and restoring homes in the Oakland, California, area, Neil Sullivan and his company are very active in the local community. Sullivan Management Company, for example, sponsors DASH camps for young people with diabetes.

Diabetes and Sports Health (DASH) is an organization dedicated to improving outcomes for children with diabetes and simultaneously fighting against stigmas and stereotypes. The nonprofit organization uses the transformative power of team sports to turn diabetes into “#livabetes” and to help kids flourish and play in spite of their condition.

DASH Camps DASH programs and camps are open to young

people ages six through 18. Although the camps focus on the needs of students with diabetes, they are also open to friends and family who do not have diabetes.

Campers spend five or six hours engaged in physical activity each day, with plenty of time left over for other fun, diabetes education, and art projects. Weeklong DASH camps culminate in a community health fair, which is largely run by the campers themselves.
