Attorney Jeff Weissman Leads Firm in 2015 SAFEWALK-RUN 5K

IntroductionJeffrey A. Weissman provides representation to family and

marital litigation clients as a divorce lawyer of Gladstone & Weissman in Boca Raton, Florida. In 2015, the firm, in which Jeff Weissman is a principle, participated in the Women in Distress 16th Annual SAFEWALK-RUN 5K.

Presented by Women in Distress of Broward County, Inc., the SAFEWALK-RUN serves the community by raising awareness about domestic violence and increasing opportunities to educate the public. Proceeds go toward programs and services that benefit victims of domestic violence within the community and help Women in Distress offer emergency shelter to those affected, regardless of age, sex, race, sexual orientation, or other individual statuses.

SAFEWALK-RUN 5KParticipants register as individuals or as members of a team of

five or more, although the organization asks that all participants commit to raising a minimum of $200 in donations. Furthermore, participants may receive sponsorship from family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors. An officially timed event, SAFEWALK-RUN awards prizes to the fastest runners.

Women in Distress operates as Broward County’s only state-certified and nationally accredited full-service domestic violence center and aims to end domestic abuse through advocacy, education, and intervention. Celebrating 40 years of service to the community, the 16th Annual SAFEWALK took place on February 21, 2015, in Ft. Lauderdale. Pollo Tropical hosted the event, and the year’s fundraising goal was to raise $150,000.
