Annexation Process

• Convene annexation team

• Ordinance establishing public hearing

dates (two required)

• P&Z Commission for recommendation

• Preparation of service plan

• First Public Hearing (10 March)

• Second Public Hearing (12 March)

• Council considers annexation

ordinance (9 April)

Annexation Service Plan

• Provides services to the annexation area in a manner comparable to the level of service available to similar areas of the City

• Does not reduce the service level within existing city limits by more than a negligible amount

• Upon annexation, it is a contract with the residents of the annexed area
