A GOOD WEEKEND GOOD TIMES, GREAT PRICES UK wide 17th-20th March

‘A Good Weekend’ is the first of an annual four-day event that celebrates International Day Of Happiness by making it as simple as possible for people to try doing something new. There is no central venue, activities will take place everywhere and anywhere around the UK. The overall aim of ‘A Good Weekend’ is to encourage everyone to participate in more activities, together with likeminded people but ‘A Good Weekend’ is also celebrating International Day Of Happiness and the first day of spring ‘17 by supporting ‘Time To Change’, Britain’s foremost campaign to end mental health discrimination. ‘A Good Weekend’ is a national event that provides an opportunity for any business, organisation or community that offers events, experiences or activities to promote themselves, ahead of the summer, at a traditionally slow time of the year. During the long weekend, participating UK businesses, organisations, communities and organisers can offer everyone, including beginners, easy access to their workouts, coffees, talks, comedy, adventures, movies, gigs, art, food, skills, hobbies, rides, walks, workshops…Introductions to new friends and lifes’ simple pleasures. ‘A Good Weekend’ is establishing a ‘good’ version of Black Friday – for people that want to Do Something rather than Buy Something – for people to enjoy more authentic experiences. It is an opportunity over 1-4 days to sample activities or make free or special discounted offers available to existing and potential new attendees. This annual event is founded by Chris Ward, currently working with Richard Curtis and the team at http://www.project-everyone.org to make the world aware of the http://www.globalgoals.org. Previously Chris has been Creative Director of Comic Relief, key figure on the legacies of the 2010 World Cup and 2012 Olympics, has created campaigns for BBC Children In Need and the Nelson Mandela Foundation and worked with the worlds’ biggest brands through the agency he founded and sold (Beatwax).

More Customers, More Good. Undertaking activities together with likeminded people is viewed as a positive experience by mental health charities. ‘A Good Weekends’ aim is to expand the market for people that spend their time on ‘doing things’ as opposed to ‘buying things’ and to increase awareness of mental health issues. With many people struggling with the end of the traditional measures of success and happiness; job, financial and home security, ‘A Good Weekend’ is an annual opportunity to introduce millions more to the positive experiences available through spending time doing activities with likeminded people. With too many people suffering stress, anxiety, depression, and loneliness it is awareness and easy access to these activities and communities that can provide much-needed positive experiences. We are working with the relevant charities to ensure ‘A Good Weekend’ maximises its impact towards achieving good health and wellbeing for all. How to get involved… We are currently signing up business, organisations and communities who wish to participate. We are also securing overall brand sponsors. ‘A Good Weekend’ will be announced to all trade and media on (Blue) Monday, January 23rd with the public launch on Monday 27th February, when the website goes live and all campaign content is available for you to use. This then provides for 3-4 weeks of high-level publicity. Please let us know if you would like to be a ‘Founder Participant’ and benefit from the additional publicity generated around the trade launch in January. Please join us in creating ‘A Good Weekend’ for everyone in the UK. Lets provide a fun and inspiring long weekend for millions of people, whilst promoting the ongoing opportunities they have to enjoy regular activities with likeminded people. #HappyTimes Contact Chris Ward / 0044 7932 746 591 [email protected] www.bluedotagency.com
