2017 ICMA Mountain Plains Regional Summit to Occur in May in Utah

Introduction A city administration professional with nearly two decades of

experience, David Frasher operates as the City Manager of Hot Springs, Arkansas, assuming responsibility for its departments and funds. David Frasher also belongs to the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), which will host the 2017 ICMA Mountain Plains Regional Summit in May. 

The ICMA Mountain Plains Regional Summit invites attendees to engage in various workshops and special sessions focused on diversity, inclusion, and leadership. Following check-in, attendees can participate in an inclusiveness and diversity session with lunch. Other events include an ICMA University workshop, a reception dinner sponsored by the ICMA Retirement Corporation (ICMA-RC), and a presentation by the new ICMA executive director. Furthermore, the ICMA Mountain Plains Regional Business Meeting will take place after the summit’s conclusion. 

International City/County Management Association The Emerging Professionals Leadership Institute also hosts an

event for a couple of days immediately prior to the regional summits. The Institute encourages managers to invite early career professionals and other emerging leaders for workshops and special sessions presented by the ICMA University and ICMA-RC. Attendance requires a registration fee separate from that for the ICMA Mountain Plains Regional Summit. 

Intended for ICMA members and officers in the Mountain States, as well as the West North Central States of Kansas, North Dakota, and South Dakota and all of the West South Central States except Louisiana, the Mountain Plains Regional Summit will take place May 4-5 at Sandy City Hall in Sandy City, Utah. Registration is $295 for ICMA members and $395 for non-members. Attendees may also receive discounted room rates at the Hilton Garden Inn by mentioning the event.
