AN EXAMPLE OF A PRO BONO FORMAT

25

The Probono Marathon

What is it?

A one-day event gathering about 10

volunteers to support a social

change organisation regarding its

support functions.

The volunteers’ mission

1. Preparation : reading the non-profit

diagnosis and the mission brief

2. Exploration and collective thinking:

focus on the needs and identification

of solutions

3. Production of deliverables: concrete

solutions: action plans or tools to

ensure an implementation in the

following months

What is the point?

For the social change organisation

• A global diagnosis of its activities and

its skills needs

• A critical eye and various expertises

• An action plan to implement within a

few months

For volunteers

• Teamwork

• A direct contact with non-profit

leaders

• Development of one’s skills

For the corporate partner

• Reinforce internal cohesion

• Development of employees’ skills

• Reinforce local and community links

A Pro Bono Marathon example

The organisation

Les Compagnons Bâtisseurs Provence

implement support activities to restore

the houses of inadequately housed

people.

The need

Communication: Develop a

communications strategy

The deliverables

1. General goals of the communication

and goals per target

2. Audit of the communication tools and

channels

3. Key messages and communication

actions for each target
