What makes a successful museum is hard to tell in general terms...
is dependent on the specific situation…On the collection,The building,The staff,The funding,The location, The country,The culture and the values that count…The expectations and needs visitors and stakeholders may have…
And as we did see two days ago,on the way the museum meets it’sGolden Circle:
In general a successful museum should Consider the Why, How and What regarding:
→Content (objects or site)
values + data/information
↓↑ →Use (presentations)
‘use’ in storyline, exhibitions, experience, events
↓↑ →Impact (public)
added value for visitors and other stakeholders
Basically your museum shoulda. Tell a storyb. Know the collectionc. Meet the expectations of
