Pinterest Advice: Amanda Rettke1. Have a Strong Caption: (i.e. “BEST Chocolate Cake”, “New York Times Rated Best Cookies”, “How-To Make a Cake in 3 minutes!”

2. Crisp, clear, APPEALING image. If its a dessert: Drizzle something, pipe something, whip something, cover with sprinkles.  If you use fruit: Spritz it with water so it glistens.  If you are making hot food: Add a bit of steam or drizzle with butter so it shines.

3. Always always always pin from the original source.  This tip is to better the community and develop good habits. It can take as little as 10 seconds to track down original source, but is vital to keep to your Pinterest integrity.

Pinterest Advice: Julie Deily1. Share, pin and repin stuff you love. Be authentic and

stay true to yourself and what you love, it's honestly much easier and you'll gain followers because your personality will show through on your boards.

2. When repinning, be sure to click through and verify it's the original source before repinning. It's even easy to do it on the smartphone app.

3. Grow your following via group boards but choose wisely when adding contributors to your own boards as well when joining others' boards.

4. Spread your pins out, don't spam or slam boards all at once, especially with your own pins. Use a scheduling tool to help with that if you don't want to be on Pinterest all day.
