FOOD PROCESSING IN INDIA
A «Second Green Revolution» is pleaded by various parties, on one hand to guarantee the food security of the local population, on the other to increase the exports of food items, with all the consequent benefits to the economy.
Improving the technologies and techniques in post-harvesting phase in mandatory to achieve such goals.
This priority has been recognized by the Indian Government as well. The Govt. Launched in fact several programs for developing agriculture, in both cultivation and post-harvesing phases.
FOOD PROCESSING IN INDIA
For improving the food processing sector, several initiatives have been commenced by the Indian Government:
• Opening of Mega Food Parks and facilitation for their creation
• Increase in fundings and initiatives related to the National Mission on Food Processing
• Excise duty on import of machinery reduced from 10% to 6%
• A 20 billion Rupees fund to facilitate credit in the sector

In order to provide Companies willing to catch the new business opportunties in the food processing sector, FederUnacoma – Italian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Federation and FICCI – Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry will organize the first edition of
