- Visual texture: smooth, shiny/opaque, lines, spots, ridges
- Size and shape- Whole bunches or individual pieces

Safety: will the food harm me? Identification: what is it, what flavour is it? Needs: will this food satisfy my present needs for
energy? Likeability: will I like it? Satisfaction: how satisfied will I be after eating, will it
be worth the money?
As a matter of fact, food appearance goes beyond the
looks.
Seeing is more than your eyes, it also involves your brain which
creates expectations.
