RistrettoRistretto is a very short shot of espresso coffee. The
resultant shot could be described as bolder, fuller, with more body and less bitterness. There’s less caffeine
compared to regular espresso but the same amount of coffee oils and flavour. It’s short and sweet - and you can
prepare it just like a regular espresso. One shot of espresso is 8grams of coffee in 30 ml of water, while one shot of ristretto is normally 8grams of coffee in 15ml of water,
making ristretto very strong.
just a shorter espresso
DoppioDoppio in espresso is a double shot, extracted using a double coffee filter in the portafilter. a double espresso
shot is typically around 60 ml (2 fl oz), while a double ristretto is typically
25-30 ml (~1 fl oz).

Irish coffee
The classic cocktail is made of hot coffee, Irish whiskey, and sugar (some recipes
specify that brown sugar should be used) topped with thick cream. The original Irish
coffee was invented and named by Joe Sheridan, a head chef in Foynes, County
Limerick

Caffè correttoThe corretto is an Italian cocktail of espresso, grappa, and sambuca

AffogatoAn affogato is a espresso-based beverage. It usually takes the form of a scoop of vanilla gelato or ice cream topped with a shot of
hot espresso. Some variations also include a shot of Amaretto or other liqueur. “Affogato
al cafe” means “drowned in coffee”

Café viennoisA classic in the cafés of Budapest and Vienna, the viennois is made of espresso, hot milk, and
whipped cream. In Australia a similar drink may be called Café Vienna although Espresso con panna will traditionally be in an espresso sized cup, whereas Café Vienna will be served
in the same size as a latte.

Café frappéBefore the frappuccino, there was the Greek
frappé: foam-covered iced coffee. Frappé coffee (also Greek frappé or Café frappé) is a Greek foam-covered iced coffee drink made from
instant coffee (generally, spray-dried). Accidentally invented in 1957 in the city of
Thessaloniki, it is now the most popular coffee among Greek youth and foreign tourists.

Vietnamese iced coffee
Vietnamese iced coffee, also known as Ca phe da or cafe da is a traditional Vietnamese coffee recipe. At its simplest, it is made with coarsely ground Vietnamese-grown dark roast coffee
individually brewed with a small metal French drip filter into a cup containing about a
quarter to a half as much sweetened condensed milk, stirred and poured over ice.
Café con hielo
Café con hielo translates directly to “coffee with ice” but this drink is straight
up iced espresso. So it could also be referred to as coffee on the rocks. It is a great alternative to frappé or any other
Iced coffee drink.
YuanyangYuanyang or Coffee with tea is a popular
beverage in Hong Kong, made of a mixture of three parts of coffee and seven parts of Hong
Kong-style milk tea. The name yuanyang refers to Mandarin ducks. The male and female look very different — like the coffee and milk tea used to make the drink — but still represent
conjugal love in Chinese culture.

Red eyeA close relative of the Americano, the red eye is espresso mixed with brewed coffee. A red eye is a fortified coffee drink in which espresso is combined with normal drip
brew coffee. It is known by various names, some of which refer to different variants. Drip coffee to which espresso is added may be called a Red Eye (1), Black Eye (2), Dead Eye
(3), depending on the number of espresso shots added.

Espresso Martini is just one of many coffee-flavored Martini recipes being made today. It is a great party
drink as it uses chilled espresso that gives it a caffeinated kick which you just can't duplicate with
coffee liqueurs alone. It is usually made of 1 1/2 ounces vodka, 3/4 ounce Kahlua coffee liqueur, 1/4 ounce white creme de cacao and 1 ounce cold espresso
