The largest ocean on Earth - it covers around 30% of the Earth’s surface.

The second largest ocean - it covers over 15% of the Earth’s surface.

Fun Fact: Oceans are frequently used as a means of transport with various companies shipping their products across oceans from one port to another.

THE INDIAN OCEAN

The third largest ocean on Earth - it covers around 13% of the Earth’s surface.

Fun Fact: There are many marine life forms that are yet to be discovered in oceans, some scientists suggest that there could actually be millions of marine life forms out there.

THE SOUTHERN OCEAN

The fourth largest ocean on Earth – it covers around 4% of the Earth’s surface.

Fun Fact: 94 percent of life on Earth is aquatic! That makes us land-dwellers a very small minority.

The smallest of the five oceans - it covers around 2-3% of the Earth’s surface.

Fun Fact: The surface layer of the ocean absorbs over half the heat reaching the Earth from the sun.
