Oil Eraser is a new coated hydrophobic
oleophilic foam that can absorb 80 times its
own weight in petrochemicals.
It is durable, re-usable, and suitable for a variety
of environmental and industrial applications.
This product is revolutionizing preservation and
reclamation efforts.
Oil Eraser materials are approved by the
EPA as an oil absorbent.
Oil Eraser
Oil Eraser can absorb:
Crude Oil
Heavy Oil
Silicone Oil
Light Oil
Octane
Chlorobenzene
Diesel Oil
Toluene
Chloroform
The Results:
Figure 1. Amount of oil absorbed by the Oil Eraser foam material.
Weight % gain in weight of foam.
Figure 2 shows the repeatability of oil absorption by the Oil Eraser foam. Each cycle
represents oil absorption to maximum capacity and recovery of absorbed oil from the
foam using a specially formulated release agent.
The Repeatability:
CONSERVATION OF EVERYTHINGReduce waste while saving time, money and the environment with reusable Oil
Eraser products. No wringing, squeezing or spindling. Oil Eraser uses a proprietary
eco-friendly realese agent to reclaim captured oil. This process minimizes mechanical
wear and increases the lifespan of the product.
OIL ERASER FILTRATIONOil Eraser can be used as a filter to collect petroleum waste products including oil, diesel, chlorobenzene, silicone
oil and more in a variety of applications. Size/specifications: Various sizes available, including custom sizes.
Stormwater FiltersThe Oil Eraser Stormwater Series is specially formulated to capture
pollutants in storm drains, reducing downstream impact and cutting water
treatment costs. The porosity of the filter can be controlled to allow for
different flow rates.
Inline FiltersThe Oil Eraser Inline Filter Series is specially formulated to capture
petrochemical pollutants. The inline filters, which are packed with Oil
Eraser foam, enable the oil to be removed selectively, as the flow goes
through the filter. This is a simple way to remove the remaining oil
after using oil-water separators which usually do not remove all the oil
from the water flow. In addition, oil-water separators cannot remove
emulsified oil from the water. Inline filters are a simple process that can
be used and landfilled once saturated.
Silicone Oil FiltersWater Warriors Inc. has developed a specialized coating for open cell
polyurethane foam material which can selectively retain silicone oil,
while allowing water to flow through. The coated foam, Oil Eraser, shows
hydrophobicity with the water contact angle of 144° and superoleophilicity
with the oil contact angle of 0°. This allows Silicone oil to be absorbed in the
media while allowing water to pass through.
STEP 1 – Get to work with Oil Eraser. Our foam booms, pads, and filters
absorb up to 80x its weight in oil and petrochemicals. Select the product to fit
your application or ask us to make a custom product to fit your needs.
STEP 2 – Collect used Oil Eraser products and throw them in the wash.
Industrial washing machines are recommended and can be purchased through
Water Warriors.
STEP 3 – Just add water and release agent. 5 parts water with every one
part release agent. Typical washing uses 40 gallons of release agent and costs
approximately $8 per wash.
STEP 4 – Recover the oil using our ultrafilration membrane. The wastewater
after ultrafiltration will be recycled back to the washing process, after adding
more release agent.
STEP 5 – Put Oil Eraser products immediately back to work.
Oil Eraser foam is hydrophobic so there is no need to dry your product.
Reclamation Process
Oil Eraser proprietary release agent allows you to reclaim the oil and reuse our products without any wear and tear.
Oil CleanupOil Eraser can be used in oil spill cleanup situations and for ongoing oil/water separation needs in small
or large bodies of water. Because Oil Eraser is hydrophobic, Oil Eraser booms are capable of absorbing
4 times more than conventional cleanup booms. It can be customized to absorb specific materials and
pollutants. Oil Eraser can absorb the sheen typically left behind by other materials.
Oil Eraser materials are approved by the EPA as an oil absorbent. Various sizes and materials available.
Foam Super Absorbent booms2ft Reusable Foam Bilge Sock BoomCapacity: 5 gallons per boom. Reusable for up to 25 gallons or more.
5ft Reusable Foam Sock Boom Capacity: 12 gallons per boom. Reusable for up to 60 gallons or more.
10ft Reusable Foam Sock Boom Capacity: 25 gallons per boom. Reusable for up to 125 gallons or more.
Fiber Super Absorbent booms2ft Fiber Bilge Sock BoomCapacity: 7 gallons per boom.
5ft Fiber Sock Boom Capacity: 15 gallons per boom.
10ft Fiber Sock Boom Capacity: 30 gallons per boom.
* Boom can be reused up to 5 times using the proprietary release agent.
* Self-cleaning with suspended bacteria pellet for additional cost.
Self-Cleaning Bacteria PelletsThese bacteria pellets can be added to select Oil Eraser products for
an additional cost. They are best used for situations that have periodic
light flows of organic oils. The suspended bacteria is housed in a slow
release, water-soluable pellet that releases bacteria when it comes
into contact with organic oils. The bacteria returns to spore-form
after the oil is remediated.
Oil Absorbent PadsChamoil wipes are perfect for cleaning tools, hands, machines, and
anything else that needs a quick clean-up. No water or soap required,
just wipe and go.
Size: 12” x 12” x 1/4”
Emulsifed Oil SolutionsThe most challenging part of cleanup in retaining ponds and in the ocean
is subsurface oil – it looks like a brown cloud, emulsified by wind and
waves. Oil Eraser can be used in neutrally bouyant plastic cages, attached
to nets, and as stand alone foam pillars to form a barrier containing this
hazard. Water passes through, but petrochemicals are captured by the
foam.
