• 12 F.Y B.Sc students visited Bandra on 11th Jan 2015 to understand the highly successful concept of ‘Citizens reclaim open spaces’ which has been introduced from this year on every Sunday morning
Activities conducted in 2014-15• 5th August 2014 The committee held discussions on the concept of ‘Green Audit’ with Ms. Adhiti Muralidhar and Ms. Hamsa Iyer of Observer Research Foundation, and suggested that a lecture on “Green Audit” should be held for all staff members. • 16th Sept. 2014 A session was subsequently organized by the FIP committee by Fr. Alwyn D’Silva for all staff members
Survey by FYBCA students on Waste Managers & Mapping Biodiversity
• On 21st Feb 2015 FYBCA students conducted a survey on ‘Waste Managers’ such as Ragpickers, Kabaddiwalas, Mochis etc. from Mumbai and its suburbs to make a study of their work. They also collected data on Carbon foot printing. They presented their projects to Ms. Shriya Bhatia, Environment planner
• 6th Dec. 2014 Under the supervision of Ms. Shriya Bhatia (Environmental Planner (Consultant) at Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority), an orientation was organized to sensitize students of BCA to the concept of Solid Waste Management, and Carbon Foot printing.

iNature Mobile Application Launch
• 8th Jan 2015Ms. Elavarasi Navajivan and Ms. Pooja Nair attended the iNature Mobile Application Launch Event at Don Bosco International School, Matunga, and oriented students on how to use this application to map varieties of birds, butterflies and trees within their residential area.

Ms. Padmaja Biwalkar organized a visit for FY B.Sc students (6th Batch) to Enviro-Vigil’ at Thane to observe waste management techniques
Visit to the Annual Kala Ghoda festival
• 12th and 13th February 2015Student groups of BCA &BSC visited the Annual Kala Ghoda festival to particularly view the installations on Best-out of waste
Workshop by Paryavaran Samiti
• 8 students of FY B.Sc actively participated in a series of
workshops conducted by ‘Paryavaran Samiti’,organized by Shri
M.P Shah Junior College. They then conducted peer edu sessions
with their classmat6es on topics such as save energy, and how to
recycle and reuse resources
CAMPUS CLEANLINESS DRIVE

& all BCA students actively took
the initiative to create awareness of
the importance of hygiene in the
toilets, and conducted a peer group
education campaign on the same by
visiting all classes to inculcate
habits of hygiene and cleanliness
while using the college toilets.
