“Cities have the capability of providing
something for everybody, only because,
and only when, they are created by everybody.”
SHORT TERM Deliver resources directly to the
grassroots for immediate results
LONG TERM Foster civic infrastructure,
neighbor to neighbor,
to support long-term change
1) Training & services to civic leaders
2) Digital crowd-resourcing platform
3) Data measurement & reporting

“To me the greatest value from the ioby
campaign was the public awareness building/
support. It will pay longer term dividends
beyond the $70,000 that we raised.”

“Urban Patch started with a big idea, to try to
make the American inner city better. It is a huge
task, but we know the work and change can
happen from the ground up, and literally ‘in our
back yards.’ ioby provided us with time-saving
tools, a clean online interface and presence, and
project support.”
-Justin Moore, ioby Leader
“Ten years ago people in Northern Manhattan
stopped going out in their neighborhoods. They
were afraid to linger on the street talking to
neighbors, take their children to the parks, or
window shop on busy streets. These security
measures seemed a good way to keep safe from
random bullets but it was purchased at the price
of outdoor life, physical activity and
neighborhood socializing.”
-Dr. Mindy Fullilove, ioby Leader
“It was the fundraising campaign that began the
community engagement.”
