I am the Founder and Executive Director of Green Schools. As Executive Director of Green Schools I am working to engage students, schools, and communities in environmental sustainability solutions that make, “The Green Difference!”

I am a Climate Reality Leader because…I learned the hard way…ALMOST DIED FROM SEVERE ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH ISSUES how the health of our bodies and the health of our planet are interconnected. I dedicated my life to educating and developing Best Practices in students and schools ready to make healthier choices for people and planet. I became a Climate Reality Leader to better equip with myself and Green Schools with tools to serve the 5,000+ schools and those we serve.

Robin’s StoryAfter a lifetime of allergies, chronic ear infections, chronic hives, and what is considered environmental health-related issues, Robin became extremely ill during and post-pregnancy of her second born. Robin has 2 girls who are 16 months apart. For Robin, the back to back pregnancies shook up her body’s chemistry and Robin’s environmental allergies turned into life threatening, repeated anaphylaxis as well as 13+ other diseases including Hypothyroidism, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Adult onset asthma, Fibromyalgia, Reflux, Candida, Raynauds, Hormone Imbalance, and more.
Robin read a book called Never Be Sick Again and after seeing numerous doctors across the country who could not manage her care. She finally wound up under the care of a brilliant MD who specialized in cases like hers… Dr. Alex Bingham. Dr Bingham, Raymond, the author of Never Be Sick Again, my family and friends gave Robin the tools to “choose health”, and it was a long, complex road to recovery.
After regaining much of her health, and after literally “flipping the switch on diseases” for Robin and her 2 young girls, Robin knew she had to do something…she had to act!
Robin was a formally trained teacher whose passion was education and wellness. Following this experience, Robin received an education like no other. As a mom of 2 girls whose health she worked so hard to correct, Robin was not going to let her children be in a sick school if she could help it!
Green Schools was formed as a way of protecting Robin’s children as well as all children and our future. way Green Schools works to develop, engage, and inspire the next generation of environmental leaders who understand the connections and actions needed to create healthy bodies and a healthy planet.

NGSS and Green CareersNGSS and Green CareersAt the high school level, in particular, we want to make sure that our NGSS student members aware of green careers and fields of study for college majors. We have several partners that we work closely with to provide students with detailed information about how they can find out more about green and sustainability careers.
Our internship and community partner service hour requirement is intended to help students engage with a business, agency, organization, or mentor that has experience in green and sustainable business processes, products, or services.
Career and college readiness programs in high schools can use the NGSS Green Careers resources to guide students and support them in making green career choices.
