GLOBAL WARMING

INTRODUCTION

• This project gives us information about the following:

i)what is global warming?

ii)what causes global warming?

iii)what is the relation between green

house gases and global warming?

iv)what are the affects of global warming on living creatures?

Global warming ,term denotes the accelerated warmingof the earth’s surface due to arthropogenic (humanactivity- related)releases of green house gases due toindustrial activity and deforestration.

GLOBAL WARMING

Global warming is the increase of earth’s average surface temperature due to effect of green house gases , such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation ,which trap heat that would otherwise escape from earth.

GLOBAL WARMING

The sun sends out energy in the form of heat , light.

These sun rays get trapped in the atmosphere, and some of the rays are get reflected into the space.

The rays which gets through atmosphere heats up the earth.

This will cause the earth to heats up.

The green house gases present in the atmosphere like carbon di oxide ,methane etc.capture the heat present in atmosphere and causes the earth to heats up.

This is known as global warming.

ULTRA VIOLET RAYSUltraviolet rays (UV rays)are sent by the sun in the form

of heat and energy ,this UV radiation is reflected in to the space by ozone layer

But due to increase of green house gases these are captured by them and this causes heavy heat in the earth.

INFRARED RAYS

• These rays also send by the sun in the form of heat and energy and that is reflected by the ozone layer.

• These rays are less harmful than ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION(UV rays)

HOW WILL THE EARTH HEATS UP?• The atmosphere is made up of mixture of gases.

• The living creatures need atmosphere to live.

• These gases form a blanket ,which traps heat ,these gases are called “GREEN HOUSE GASES”.

• These gases trap up heat from the atmosphere which causes the earth to heat.

• This is known as “NATURAL GREEN HOUSE EFFECT”EFFCT”.

WHAT ARE GREEN HOUSE GASES?

The gases which trap heat less than 1%of the atmosphere, they are called green house gases .They are the a mixture of gas layers ,which keeping us

warmth, by capturing enough heat from the atmosphere. But now a days due to the increase of these gases we are

facing the problems.

WHAT ARE THE GREEN HOUSE GASES

The green house gases are very good at capturing the energy at wavelengths that other compound miss.

As a result the earth surface is ~33°c warmer than it would be without an atmosphere.

These green house gases allow short length

waves but absorb long length waves radiation.

GREEN HOUSE GASES

Carbon dioxidecombustion of solid waste, fossil fuels (oil, natural gas, and coal), and wood and wood products

Methane :production and transport of coal, natural gas, and oil. Methane emissions also result from the decomposition of organic wastes in municipal solid waste landfills, and the raising of livestock.

Nitrous oxideagricultural and industrial activities, as well as during combustion of solid waste

and fossil fuels.

hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6),

WHERE DOES THE GREEN HOUSE GASES COME FROM

• Burning of fossil fuels releases the carbon dioxide( stored in it million years ago.

• By the using of refrigerators ,the poisonous gases like chlorofluorocarbons'(CFC),Perflourocarbons(PFC),releases in to the atmosphere.

GREEN HOUSE EFFECT

The green house gases increase in the atmosphere ,and they will react with chloroflouro carbons and distract the ozone layer causing heavy heat to be to be captured by the green house gases This is known as green house effect

WHY IS THIS GLOBAL WARMING HAPPENING?

• Due to the increasing level of carbon dioxide (co2)andsome other gases like carbon monoxide(co),chlorofluorocarbons(cfc)etc.released by anthropogenic way into the atmosphere .

• Due to the increase level of these gases the heat from the sun is trapped much by these gases.

• So that the temperature of the earth increases an das well also cause for climate changes.

CONCEQUENCES

The consequence of the global warming not only showing effect on us but also our future children also get affected.

They will suffer from so many types of diseases and so many resource problems.

AVERAGE MEAN LEVEL OF TEMPERATURE

CAUSES

HYDROFLOURO CARBONS(HFC)

PERFLOUROCARBONS(PFC)

SULPHURHEXA FLOURIDE(SF6)

DUE TO THESE TYPE OF GASES THEY GO AND ACCUMUMLATE IN THE ATMOSPHERE WHEN THE ULTRAVIOLET RAYS(UV) FALLS ON THE OZONE LAYER THE CFC’S DEPLETE THE OZONE CAUSING EARTH HEAVY WARMTH ,AND TO CAUSE GLOBAL WARMING.

WHAT ARE CFC’S AND PFC’S

The gases which causes green house effect and as well as

playing main role in depletion of ozone layer.

These gases allow the UV rays from the sun by causing depleting of ozone

They are formed by using refrigerators ,rockets and jet engines

IDENTIFICATION

• The water level will be increase and over flow in to the villages.

• The ice from the Himalayas melts and mix-up in to the oceans.

• Due to the heavy heat glaciers will be formed much.

PROBLEMS

Due to the direct falling of uv rays and infra red rays humans will be affected by i)eye cataracts

ii)skin cancer

Due to the heavy temperature the ice from the Himalayas melts and water will over flow to the villages and destroy every thing.

The marine animals get affected by the loss of resources .

The greenery of the world deplenished.

Ozone layer will depletes and there will be no living being on the earth.

An increase in the concentration of green house gases leads to nan increase in the magnitude of the green house effect(called enhanced green house effect).

It infects the human’s DNA and immune system.

SOLUTIONS• We must take care of our earth, instead of polluting .• And we must reduce using of aerosols, refrigerators.• Burning of fossil fuels is also reduced.• We must maintain sustainable development.• We should reduce the use of plastics and other non

decompose materials.

SUGGESTIONS

• I will suggest to reduce the use of non renewable resources.

• To reduce the use of CFC’S.

• To reduce the use of fuels like petrol ,diesel and fossil fuels etc.

• To maintain the use of CNG(compressed natural gas) instead of petrol ,diesel etc…

• Then our earth will be sustainable ……
