Community Forest

• "Community Forest" means a National Forest handed over to an users'group pursuant to Section 25 for its development, conservation andutilization for the collective interest

• The District Forest Officer may handover any part of a National Forest to aUsers' Group in the form of a Community Forest As Prescribed entitling todevelop, conserve, use and manage the Forest and, sell and distribute theForest Products independently by fixing their prices according to Work Plan

• The Users' Group to be a Corporate Body: (1) The Users' Group constitutedpursuant to Section 42 shall be an autonomous and corporate body havingperpetual secession. (2) The Users' Group shall have a separate seal of itsown. (3) The Users' Group as a person may acquire, possess or transfer orotherwise manage movable and immovable property.
