Sound that is unwanted or disrupts one’s quality of life is called as noise. So, Noise is basically any unwanted sound.

When there is a lot of noise in the environment it is turned as noise pollution. Sound becomes undesirable when it disturb the normal activities such as working, sleeping etc.

In this type of pollution contaminants are not physical particles, but waves which interfere with the naturally occurring waves of a similar type in the same environment.

It is sound with a high intensity sound caused by industry machines. Sources of such noise pollution is caused by machines from machines in various factories, industries and mills.

Transport noise mainly consists of traffic noise from road, rail and aircraft. Automobiles on roads

like motors, scooters, cars, motor cycles, buses, trucks and diesel engine vehicles are mainly responsible for transport noise.

This type of noise includes disturbance from household gadgets and community. Common sources being musical instruments, TV, VCR, Radios, Transistors, Telephones, and loudspeakers etc.

1. Industrialization: Most of the industries use big machines which are capable of producing large amount of noise.

2. Poor Urban Planning: In most of the developing countries, poor urban planning also play a vital role.

3. Social Events: Noise is at its peak in most of the social events. Whether it is marriage, parties, pub, people normally flout rules set by the local administration and create nuisance in the area.

4. Transportation: Large number of vehicles on roads, airplanes flying over houses, underground trains produce heavy noise .

5. Construction Activities: Under construction activities like mining, construction of bridges, buildings, stations, roads, flyovers take place in almost every part of the world. The down point is that these construction equipments are too noisy.

6. Household Chores: We people are surrounded by gadgets and use them extensively in our daily life. Gadgets like TV, mobile , mixer grinder, pressure cooker, vacuum cleaners , washing machine and dryer, cooler, air conditioners. These all are creating noise.

1. There are direct links between noise and health.also, noise pollution

adversely affects the lives of millions

ofpeople. Noise pollution can damage physiological

health.

2. High blood pressure, stress related illness, sleep disruption, hearing loss, and productivity loss are the problems related tonoise pollution.

3. It can also causes memory loss, severe depression, and panic attacks.

4. Wildlife faces far more problems than humans because noise pollution since they are more dependent on sound. Animals develop a better sense of hearing than us since their survival depends on it.

3. Buildings can be designed with suitable noise absorbing material for the walls, windows, and ceilings.

4. Regulation should be imposed to restrict the usage of play loudspeakers in crowded areas and public place.

5. Factories and industries should be located far from the residential areas.
