Proposed New Term of Office REGIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Background Since 1994, members of the RAC

serve for a term of 2 years, and can be re-elected for another 2-year term

Past 8 years more than 75% of RAC members

were extended for a 2nd term Remaining 1st termer are usually

recommended for another term

Rationale

The new Term of Office is being

proposed to ensure continuity

and “institutional memory”

Proposed New Term of Office RAC will be composed of 15

members per region (L/V/M) Term of office of RAC members will

be from 2 to 4 years Each RAC member shall only serve

for one term

Proposed New Term of Office Voluntary resignation/renunciation

shall be considered as interruption in the continuity of service if it will happen within the first 24 months of his/her turn

The GA will choose the replacement for the unfinished term, as per existing process of re-election

Proposed New Term of Office Effective FY 2014-2015, the new term of

office will be applied based on the following: Seven (7) RAC members per region

to serve for a term of 2 years, ending June 30, 2016

Eight (8) RAC members per region to serve for a term of 4 years, ending June 30, 2018
