What is and how to prepare for Video Poker

Page 5: Video poker intro

Look into your CONTENT LOGS & VIDEO MATERIAL •  Where do interesting things happen in your video material?

•  Look for actions, not just talk

•  It is OK to think something is interesting without being able to explain why

•  Find these interesting situation in your video material

Page 6: Video poker intro

Select the interesting parts in the VIDEO MATERIAL •  Find and select video sequences

•  Video sequences of 20 sec. – 2 minutes

•  Aim for 10-15 video sequences

•  Look for representing diversity in the selection, do not focus on just one thing

Page 7: Video poker intro

Save the interesting parts as small VIDEOS (wmv, mpg, etc) •  Give the movies a name, that describes the action, not what you think of it

•  Rather ‘Jørgen explains the lamp’s aestetics’ than ‘Jørgen do not like the lamp’

•  Take a ‘screen dump’ from the movie that represents the actions taking place

•  Put the ‘screen dump’ into your Indesign file and write a descriptive name

Page 8: Video poker intro

Create 10-15 small VIDEOS •  When all of your video cards are ready in Indesign, you need to go somewhere to print

•  Print 2 examples and some blank ones, cut them into video cards using a shape knife

•  Divide and organise the video material in two folders on the comp - time issue

•  Organise the cards so that they match the material in the folders

2)  Play another card and comment it and so forth

3)  When you have 3-5 cards look for patterns

4)  Discuss the patterns shortly

5)  Continue to play cards and see how they affect the pattern

6)  When all cards are played draw conclusions
