1) Say the word.

2) Write and say the word.

3) Check the word.

4) Trace and say the word.

5) Write the word from memory and check.

6) Repeat the first five steps.

THE FIVE-STEP WORD STUDY STRATEGY

1) SAY THE WORD

1) The student says the word. For example apple.

2) The students will say the word only in this step.

2) WRITE AND SAY THE WORD

1) After that, the teacher will ask the students to say the word that they say in step one.

2) If the students say wrong, the teacher will teach how to say the right word.

3) After saying, the teacher will ask the students to write that word in the book.

3) CHECK THE WORD

1) After the students finish write the word, they will check the word if right or wrong.

2) They will change the paper with their friends to check the spelling.

3) After check, the teacher will check again so that the word that the students write it correctly.

4) TRACE AND SAY WORD

1) After the students write the word, they will trace that word and repeat again.

2) They also say that word and they will repeat again so that word will reminder in their memory.

5) WRITE THE WORD FROM MEMORY AND CHECK.

1) In the final stage, the students will remember that the word they say before this.

2) If they cannot remember, don’t pressure the students because it may be the students cannot remember more before this.

3) After they remember, they will take out the word from their memory and write the word again.

4) After write, they will check again like before this(same in step 3).
