These are my results from survey monkey for this question. The majority of answers tell me that the thing that most people look for in a music magazine is : The bands & New music. Also some people have put exclusive interviews, freebies and gig information.

This concludes to that my magazine should include bands and information of new music, I can put this information on the cover of the magazine. Also the freebies would be a good selling point to go the cover as well.

These results show that the majority of people watch there videos online, on YouTube. This will help me with my magazine as I can have a story on my contacts about the best place to watch music videos and other sites were they can watch them.

Majority of the people I asked do used networking spaces, these could be useful as can have like to a online magazine or even have a group on that social space. Majority of people use Facebook and MySpace, which both have access to making groups and fan bases.

From these results I can gather that most of the new music people find is from online and on TV. I could include something about new music in my magazine or have something that’ll tell people the best website to find the newest music around or even include.

The amount of money people spend on physical and downloaded music is from £5.50 - £10 . I can interpret this into my magazine by including something to do with finding the best bargain music, discounts on music, were to download music. These can feature on the contents page also add some advertisements as well.

People

These results simply show that the majority of people would rather spend £2.50 - £3 on a music magazine. This seems like a reasonable price to pay as at the moment there is a credit crunch and going against competition this is an average price.

8. Is the genre of music important to the magazine?

90% said YES10% said NO

This shows that I must have some sort of genre to my magazine featuring bands that contrast with that genre, it can’t be a magazine and have a rock band featured in it as it wouldn’t appeal to the reader.

The most popular of genres from these results is Indie and Rock which are similar types of genres so they can both be involved in my magazine. The house style can be based around this as well including the colours, the bands and also the layout of the magazine all contrast with the style.
