Something tells me When I want to do something good, Like finishing my homework, Something seems to tell me, To do it later than now instead! When I want to do something nice, Like bake a cake for my brother, Something seems to tell me, To put some pepper in it instead! When I want to do something sweet, Like pay a visit to my grandma, Something seems to tell me, To rush to my best friend’s house instead! When I want to do something noble, Like write a letter to the President on world peace, Something seems to tell me, To wage war on my neighbor’s dog (and the cat) instead! When I want to do something honest, Like own up to the fact that I had lied, Something seems to tell me, To just chuck it all up and lie some more instead! When I want to write a nice little poem, Like one that makes you feel all good (and wins contests), Something seems to tell me, To write one about things that make you go ugh instead!
