The strange story of the Short Familyand their nosy neighbours...

One morning Mr Short arrived home

very happily and shouted:

WE ARE RICH!!WE ‘VE WON THE

LOTTERY!

I BOUGHT A TICKET

YESTERDAY!!And everyone started to make plans...

Mrs Short shouted too!!

I´m going to buy an

expensive fur coat!

We´re going to travel to

Bahamas!

Bob, the son, said:

I can buy a

huge motorbike

now!!

I must phone

my friendRita.

We willbuy an iPodwith lots of nice songs.

Gwendoline, the daughter, said:

HELP!HELP!

I´M HAVING A

HEART ATTACK!!

With all the excitement, nobody heardgrandma shouting:

So all of them had to run to hospital with

grandma.

Next morning, Leonard, their nosy neighbour started

spreading the gossip around the

neighbourhood.

You know, I overheard the Shorts yesterday.

Mr Short saidthat they were rich.

He said that they had won the lottery.

He told them that he had bought a ticket the day before.

Mrs Short said that she was

going to buy an

expensive fur coat.

And she said that they were going to travel to Bahamas.

Bob, their stupid son

said that he could buy a

huge motorbike

then.

Gwendolinetold them that

she hadto phone her friend Rita.

She also said that they would buy an iPod with lots of nice songs

Poor Grandma!Nobody heard

her.She asked them

to help her.

SHE SAID THAT SHE WAS HAVING A HEART ATTACK!!!
