Question: Can we blow different

shaped bubbles if we use different shaped cookie

cutters as bubble wands?

Hypothesis:Different shapes of cookie cutters will make different bubble shapes.

Preparation:Gather supplies that we need for the project:–Science notebook and pencil–Dish washing liquid–Glycerin–Water–Measuring cups and spoons–Different shapes of cookie cutters

Dinosaur, star, heart, football, circle, square, flower, bunny, tree, gingerbread man

Make Bubble Solution

•Measure 4 1/2 cups water•Measure 1/2 cup dishwashing liquid•Measure 4 tablespoons glycerin•Mix together

Begin Experiment• We recorded each cookie cutter shape first,

then we drew the shape of the bubble that the cookie cutter made.

• The first shape of cookie cutter we used was a circle. We recorded the shape of the bubble as a circle.

• The next shape of cookie cutter was a square. We recorded the shape of the bubble as a circle.

• We used all of the different shaped cookie cutters and recorded the shape of the bubbles.

• We had fun blowing bubbles!

Results:Each cookie cutter produced circle-shaped bubbles, regardless of the original cookie cutter shape.

Conclusion:It does not matter what shape is used as the bubble wand, the bubbles will always be a circle shape.
