Music Video

• We got inspired!• By watching videos in the same genre we were able to find inspiration

• By using conventions of these videos we were able to use our creativity and produce a successful video that would be full of originality and hopefully receive a positive audience response

We watched…• Oasis- Wonderwall http://

www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hzrDeceEKc

We were inspired by:• The black and white throughout the

video• The colour selecting in places• And the performance element

• We definitely took these conventions and incorporated them into our video, also they were suggested by our target audience when they watched our rough cut

• For Oasis these are redundant features but for our video it appeared as entropy because of the clowns

This our video with the black and white and colour selecting, in each clip we chose a different colour

And…•  Laura Marling- New romantic

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yx1nwtc-Rc&feature=fvst• Christina Perri- A Thousand Years

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHkvan-NFnM

How were we inspired?• Both videos shows the lyrics written on different things, such as trees or walls

• We used this idea in our video not only did it look good but it changed our audiences expectations for the videos as this is entropic of rock-indie videos, but this did add a more exciting visual for the audience

• This also goes to Goodwin's theory of amplifying by having visuals relate to lyrics, In this clip of our video the lyrics are written on the white board, with the performance over the top however the image quality isn't the best

And finally…•   Panic! At the disco- We Write

Sins Not Tragedies

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc6vs-l5dkc&ob=av2e

• This video was our biggest influenced, the circus element is throughout this video and it also has a narrative which our video does

• This video and our video shows redundancy of the rock-indie genre

• Our mise-en-scene is of the typical clown dress, although of scenery was in a town but this suited our narrative

Here is one of our costumes and actors, we stuck with the original clown costume and makeup but made it more modern

Digipak• My digipak was inspired by the

images we took of the band• I stuck with black and white to go

with the music video and the purple came from the clown in the video and his trousers

• I called the album Travelling Company to go with the clown theme

• However for me I was remembering that I'm trying to promote the band and to encourage the target audience to by the CD.

• Also the limited colour pallet and dark colours is redundant of the rock-indie genre

Digipak Continued….• My Digipak contains the

redundant conventions of a real digipak:

• Four or more panel layout• Barcode• Track List• Images of some sort• Record information

Page 8: Question 1 - In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Magazine Advert• My advert flows from

my digipak, I used the same colour scheme and images

• It's very simple but get straight to the point

• It's easy to read and the all the information is there for quick advertising

Page 9: Question 1 - In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Magazine Advert Continued….• Again I have the typical conventions

of a magazine advert:• The band name• Album title• Where you can purchase the album• And a comment from a music

magazine
