RESOLUTION NO. 383-12WHEREAS, Sundeep and Nita Khosla initiated a pro-ceeding to vacate a portion of Third Street S.W., that is adjacent to their south property line. Voters head to the polls today as a furious and lengthy campaign season comes to a close.

On the ballot for southeastern Minne-sota voters are choices for Congress, governor, legislators, mayors, sheriffs and a host of school funding questions.And while thousands were expected to cast ballots across Minnesota today, many already have registered their votes. It appears more absentee ballots will be cast in Olmsted County this elec-tion than during the last midterm elec-tion in 2006.

Olmsted County Elections Adminis-trator Pam Fuller said more than 3,500 ballots had been counted as of Monday. And with a steady line of people waiting to vote absentee, she expected plenty more absentee ballots to come in to push past the 4,000 who voted early in 2006.“I would say we are going to have at least another 1,000 ballots,” she said.This year also marks the first time that county offices are responsible for counting absentee ballots. No per-son shall maintain a duck coop and run unless they have been granted a per-mit by the common council.The permit shall be subject to all terms and conditions of this chapter and any ad-ditional conditions deemed necessary by the council to protect the public health, safety and welfare. The necessary permit applica-tions are available in the City Clerk’s Office. In-cluded with the completed application must be a scaled diagram that indi-cates the location of any duck coop and run, and the approximate size and dis-tance from adjoining struc-tures and property lines. A permit for the keeping of ducks may be revoked or suspended by the council for any violation of chapter 113B following written no-tice and a public hearing.A fee of $20.00 will be charged for each permit which shall expire on De-cember 31st of the second year of the permit.113B.03.
