The idea• Purpose of my ident is to excel and show its uniqueness against other brands and channels by

doing this I used a colour scheme that could represent your channel which is orange and sapphire. Using colours such as sapphire and orange attract the audience automatically and because you are a channel that is just beginning you need a unique identity alongside your new logo.

BBC three with the colour pink and ITV2 with the colour green, the difference between ITV2 and the others are that they target the A, B and C1, sharing the same purposes but targeting a higher demographic to BBC three which is C2, D and E alongside E4 even though they all target the audiences of 16-34.

Planning

My first attempt was mainly the given words ‘Gritt 11’ and I thought this was a weak ident even though its broad.

Using the convention of music a failed attempt of the microphone.

PlanningShape is a triangle with a meaning, the past, the present and the future.

In the past and the present we may not be high but in the future we will be at the top.

Logo shortened to be made short and snappy and easily memorable and easily distinctive.

I made a drastic change from the first logo draft, changing the shape and shortening the logo name but still it doesn’t look to appealing even though its distinctive it needs to be memorable, distinctive and made universal.

Creating a flash ident would be easier and less expensive, so I decided

Media production icons (stop, pause, record and play) telling the audience what the channel is about.

The icons will move but the play button wont move

The play button then begins to be the focal point. Then it begins to

shake and go crazy.

The logo then is brought to life through the triangle

Main idea

• Our idents will include live recordings which will represent the reality we live in but because the channel will show music videos, chat shows, American sitcoms and animation.

The settings and location used will be places where as teenagers when we would go to these places they where special occasions which will make ‘Grit 11’ that special place for the audience; places such as the cinema, on stage a football match or the mall or other places C2, D and E audiences can relate too.

Main Idea

• The flash ident will have a different ideawith use of conventional production icons (stop, play, pause and record) the name Grit11 will be on the play button;

• The idents created will just show the audience that grit11 is different simply through its ident (the play button moves differently then the other icons).

• The movement of the ident and the sound targets the audience.

Mediums for a live recording

Because I’m making a live recording I would need to use a canon 5d which has a higher definition and easier transference to final cut pro.

Final cut pro to edit the visuals to create the sting/ident. Photoshop CS6 to create the main logo

because of the tutorials I have practiced.

• The use of after effects is the only program I’ll be using. Which isn’t really expensive but its very time consuming and is very professional.

Stats and facts • We know what your channel is about and its target but we need to understand where you

are? You are currently 4th in terms of audience; but facts show successful re-branding can help gain more viewers; which happened with the likes of competitors BBC three: Within three months of rebrand BBC Three was the fastest growing channel amongst 16-34 year olds in digital homes

• Gained a share of 4% amongst 16-34 year olds, with year-on-year growth of 27%• Channel now reaches 4m on a weekly basis, 16% year-on-year rise• First mainstream channel to pioneer viewer created content

Proving that re-branding could help ‘Grit 11’.

Budget• £430,000 since we are both up and coming companies its easy to say that

this is not to bad and its essential.• My Crew: Cinematographer, actors, producers, director and designer all

obtain a fixed salary of £40,000• Your company will gain more viewers increasing your revenue which will

mean that the income will be much higher then your outcome which is where any business wants to be.

• This I believe is a reasonable minimum and even though there is £190,000 remaining we could put this towards our company and increase our technology and better facilities so in the future we could create more attributes.

• We could sign a contract saying £500 every time our idents are shown over a 3 year contract no minimum.

USP• Its versatile and it’s not targeted at a certain gender and can be

used in different media conversions . Depending on my market research any of my two different designs would be appropriate for its target audience. Currently the only channel showing live recording would be Gritt 11 which makes it different but if the other high broadcasting channels such as E4 are using digital idents they probably see that the modern idents need digital idents to reach the audience.

• We bring a different approach with every ident there is a message behind every idea, the difference between ‘Gritt 11’ and the others, ‘Gritt 11’ is here to end boring TV. Also using the conventional target audience ideas.
