Why did I conduct primary research?

• I decided to conduct a first hand questionnaire about music artists websites. I conducted this research to give me an idea of what users of music artists websites want on the websites.

This shows me that the results of two of the questionnaires will be unhelpful. This is because two people do not use music artists websites often enough to be able to give me useful data about music artists websites.

This shows me that a lot of people use music artists websites to get information about the artist and their live performances. This shows me I should include a news and live performance information section to my artists website. I was surprised at how few people buy music from music artists websites. The reason for this was that most people I questioned told me they bought music from ITunes directly as it was easier or they illegally downloaded it as it’s cheaper. This shows me that my website should have a link to ITunes to download the artists music as that is the method that people will be most willingly use to pay for music.
