This is one of the first shots in the music video which automatically introduces us to the main artist and the location that the video is set in. The two images are faded to collaborate with each other, almost like a two shot. An establishing shot of the location allows us to see a glamorous lifestyle in a city of lights acting as the artist’s

stage. Her eyes areenhanced by the mise en scene of dark and

glamorous make up tobackground.

This shot is a long shot which introduces the audience ( for the first time ) to all of the characters within the video. The artist is centrally anchored so that the main focus is on her. All of the other characters are placed around her in shallower focus. The main colours are black and light blue, the black is again representing the glamorous pop/rock lifestyle which the artist lives. The blue and black colour scheme is apparent throughout the whole of the video as most is set at night.

This is a close up of the artist towards the end of the film which acts as the final ‘meat shot’. In this scene she has wet hair and her make up is very dramatic in comparison to the earlier scenes. Her make up almost resembles a vampire look along with her long dark nails. Again the blue and black colour scheme is carried on through to this shot keeping to the conventions of this glamorous, pop/rock music video.

This particular shot is made up of three separate shots, which are put together in postproduction. The focus of the medium close up and close up shot has been reduced so that the establishing shot in the background can still be seen. The shot could be representing how the city life is within her, that this is the life she wants to live and that its in her inner self to be in that career, that location and living that lifestyle.

This last shot shows a separate part of the choreographed dance routine towards the end of the music track video. The artist is in the centre of the other dancers which suggests her being centre of attention. Again the blue and black colour scheme is apparent which keeps a running theme through the video much like the running theme and influences of glamour and pop/rock through the song. This final shot is making a statement of living the party lifestyle and living for the night which is apparent in the lyrics.
