FATAL SILENCE

SYNOPSIS

Chris is a teenager who decides to take a walk into a wood, that has been

known as the location of mysterious events, due to other people going missing

or coming back changed. His friend, Robert, decides to go to the wood to

search for him. Fatal Silence centers on his journey through the wood, where

he encounters a dangerous situation that forces him to escape with his life

before the woods claim him, just like every previous visitor.

CONVENTIONS AND APPEAL Our protagonist is placed in extreme danger due to facing up to

possible death. A typical characteristic of the thriller genre that our target audience will appreciate

Our trailer will contain elements of mystery that are so typical of the genre. This may take some time to be solved by the protagonist

Protagonist verses Antagonist with the antagonist initially having control and appearing stronger

Our film uses settings that portray a normal everyday environment. The same goes for the clothing and character used. They are normal everyday people.

The theme of isolation plays an important part throughout. Our main protagonist is observed on his own in the wood regularly

The narrative is firmly dominated by the protagonist’s point of view.

There is a clear sense of pursuit throughout. In our film, the protagonist is pursuing his lost friend.

Founded in 1967 as a film distribution company and later became an independent film studio.

It is a subsidiary of the conglomerate Time Warner

It has a successful history of producing critically acclaimed hit films for both the mainstream and niche audiences

New Line maintains separate development, production, marketing and distribution but coordinates these with Warner Bros to maximize the efficiency of the product.

Their first full length production was Stunts, which was an action thriller, which was a commercial

success

They produced Seven in 1995, which starred world renowned actors Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt.

They also produced the Final Destination franchise

Since 2008, the company has seen the most successful period in its history, having produced a number

of blockbuster films

Through their successful use of the social media format, they have the ability to appeal effectively to the

young target audience

choice for the production of our thriller film, Fatal Silence
