The Introduction of Cinema in Sub-Continent

• Cinema was introduced to India on July 7, 1896.

• The first full-length Indian feature film was Raja Harischandra, made in 1913 and released commercially in May that year, by Dadasaheb Phalke.

Introduction of Pakistani Cinema

Pakistani Film Industry 1947 -58

• With much hardships faced, the new film industry was able to produce its first feature film, Teri Yaad on 7 August,1948,premièring at the Parbhat Theatre in Lahore.
