This routine is known as the bad romance dance and is used continually throughout the music video. This is important in music video as it links all the different scenes used together showing it relevance to the music and the lyrics.

The close up used here contrasts to other scenes used, as her facial expressions reads pain and anguish. Compared to the dark and strong costumes

and movement.

There is a use of depth of field that shows that the focus is on the people in the fore

ground, but also lady gaga and the girls are apart of the scene and are linked with men.

In this shot shows the women framed inside of the

man legs, this could represent the power and dominance that the men have over women video.

Also the arrangement of the men in the semi circle and

the relaxed body language of male could demonstrate the

natural control that men have over women.

The use of low key lighting here creates a dark and mysterious atmosphere.

Also the lighting creates an effect on lady gaga which

makes her body look similar to a monster.

There is an exaggeration of the spine which, takes her away from

looking normal to looking creature-like. This effect could

have been used to show her inner feelings and what its like behind the costume. Also the darkness

and shadow used which hides her face could make it seem as it is

secret side to her.

What also features in the video is a use of props which enforce the theme of terror, for

example in her hair there is bat which symbolises, vampire therefore linking the

theme of scariness throughout.

A pan is used which rotates as the men are in a circle watching her. The crystals that are hanging from the ceiling resemble diamonds, which are valuable and desirable. As lady gaga is in the crystal this could represent her as a desirable object to men and as they are watching her could show that she is for sale.

The outfit here also demonstrates the futuristic feel the of the video. However the use of the metal surrounding her could also suggest that she is trapped as well as the circle around her could show that he is the center of attention.

The long shot of her back shots the animals face at the for front. This draws attention to animal including the sharp

fangs, suggesting what's going to happen next will be driven by anger and will

involve an aspect of danger.

Close up shows the focus on her face and where she is intended to go. This is also

evident as man is reflected in her glass which suggest he will be involved in what is

going to happen.

The blank facial expression could represent the coldness she is feeling inside and is disconnected from her emotions.

The long shot exhibits the main man in the video and because cuts are used between them

shows he the eye of he focus. Also the black

clothing in comparison to the white surroundings, shows he is a dark and

evil character.

There is low key lighting used there which represents darkness from the murder she committed.

The red clothing could symbolise the blood that could have been shed when killing the man.

The use of red could suggest a inner change with her as a person, whereas before she wore white which symbolised innocence and purity and. However now she could be seen a dangerous and angry, as well as this it could also display passion and energy that she now feels.
