120 TAGE - THE FINE ART OF BEAUTY AND VIOLENCE “...seething passions just under the surface. The supercool vocalist and her rock guitarist, straining at the leash to amp it all up - The audience is held, rapt and attentive, from first song to last.“ Uncle NEMESIS UK on DROPDEADFESTIVAL Mur and Esch go straight for the jugular.” INTERNATIONAL REGEN MAGAZINE “Her dark, dramatic voice lets our blood flow backwards.” BEWEGUNGSMELDER MONA MUR, vocalist of her own class, “iron maiden of bloody passions”, signed together with Alexander Hacke, FM Einheit und Mark Chung (all of EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN) responsible for 80s undergroundhits such as “Snake”, “120 Tage“ or “Eintagsfliegen”. Her first 12” “Jeszcze Polska” (SUPERMAX 1982) immediately claimed London’s NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS’ “Single of the Week” slot: “Her weapons are a passionately bloody voice and a gift for multiligual puns she applies to acerbic commentaries.” A violently neo-expressionist sound of darkest shades and concerts in manic intensity and morbid slowbeat-chic were foundation stones for her cult image and reputation in the international avantgarde music scene until today. Her songs are to be found in movies such as Fatih Akin’s much acclaimed drama “Head On/Gegen die Wand”. Mur, also a successful martial artist (3 rd DAN Taekwondo) and composer for video games (BALLANCE, VELVET ASSASSIN), found a congenial musical partner who stands for sophisticated programming and explosive stage appearances: EN ESCH, striking front man and co-founder of the german/US electro-industrial outfit KMFDM, multiinstrumentalist and producer (SLICK IDIOT, PIGFACE). After twenty successful years in the Techno-Industrial scene and countless live performances around the world, the spectacular performer and talented guitarist now enjoys a cult-hero status in his larger-than-life stage persona. The Duo MUR/ESCH has drastically transformed her most intense 80s songs into a unique blend of unleashed electronic drum loops & basses, dirty organ and wreckless feedback guitars. A couple of new elektro-anthems written and peformed together spices it all up with futuristic furor. Live they are accompanied by drummer Johann Bley (Juno Reactor, Killing Joke, Holger Hiller) . The CD 120 TAGE – THE FINE ART OF BEAUTY AND VIOLENCE was released FEB 09 on PALE MUSIC International. The second album is expected late summer 2010. MUR/ESCH have performed in Basel, Kopenhagen, Prag (DROPDEAD FESTIVAL), Hamburg, Oberhausen, Avantgarde Festival Schiphorst, BERLIN INSANE Fest, at HAMBURGER BAHNHOF MUSEUM Berlin, were interviewed by ARTE TV for the series „Welcome to the 80s“, featured in POP MATTERS and eternalized as 3D Computergame-Characters (“CULPA INNATA 2 – Chaos Rising“) with their Russian version of “120 Tage”. They are invited at ALTERNATIVA Festival Prag, WROCLAW INDUSTRIAL FESTIVAL and KURT-WEILL- FESTIVAL 2010 at BAUHAUS Dessau. “...disturbing and lovely. “ Ilker Yücel, ReGen Magazine USA “...Fans of Siouxsie, Lydia Lunch, Nico & even Marianne Faithfull are sure to recognise a kindred spirit at work here.” HARDWIRED, UK www.myspace.com/monamurenesch
