Costume

Throughout my music video, the costume will consist of black skinny jeans, black t-shirts and black footwear. This is so I can meet the conventions of the costume within my genre. The clothing in the storyline will represent sadness as it revolves around the vocalist of the band being upset for no apparent reason, and then the rest of the band coming to his aid and getting him back on his feet.

Lighting

The lighting of my music video will be natural for the performance aspect as it will be filmed outside during the afternoon/evening/night. For the narrative, it will be low key to create a dull tone to the video up until the second verse when the band comes in to do the performance.

Actors

All the actors in the video will be wearing make up around the eyes to create a sad feeling but they will also be wearing it in the performance even though things are looking up for the vocalist. The parts that Matt R, Matt B, Colin and myself will be playing will be the saviours of Robert (vocalist) who is in a difficult time and losing his mind. He goes to throw a bottle at a wall in rage but Colin stops him from doing it, pulls him to his feet and assures him everything will be okay. Further on in the storyline, Matt R, Matt B, Colin and myself are looking for a vocalist for a band and ask Robert to be the vocalist. He agrees and we go to Playing Aloud studios in Lincoln to have a practise session which will lead to the performance outside the studios.

Make-up

In my video, all of the cast will be wearing eyeliner to fit in to the conventions of the glam metal genre. Examples of bands that use eyeliner in the genre are: KISS, Black Veil Brides and Mötley Crüe. It will also represent sadness within the video in the storyline as the vocalist is going through a rough time as nothing is going right for him.

Props

The props I will be using will be two black guitars, one black bass, a black drum kit, a microphone, a bass amp, two guitar amps and a microphone amp. These are for the performance parts so the audience can have a sense that the band is playing the song properly without faking it. In the storyline, the props will be a whiskey bottle in the hands of the vocalist as he is about to throw it in rage. He will also be propped up against a sofa.

Setting

The setting for my music video will be the car park of Playing Aloud in Lincoln as it is the only place we can access a drum kit, and not many people go there to use the equipment. It is easily accessible to every member of the cast and it is a large area so there many camera angles and shots available.
