Essay Question: Discuss the importance of symbols in short film.

Refer to both The Most Beautiful Man in the World and The Man with the Beautiful Eyes. You could also include Two Cars, One Night.

Use your brainstorm diagrams, your answers to how symbols work and your analysis.

Where there are common symbols, you should try to contrast the symbolism of each. For example, in both The Most Beautiful Man in the World and The Man with the Beautiful Eyes a pond is used symbolically, and long grasses might symbolise certain qualities.
