Leg Workouts To Jump Higher
The best leg workouts to jump higher are in this article right here. In fact these are the very exercises
I used in order to increase my vertical jump by 13 inches over a four month period. If you are a
basketball player and you want to get a bigger vertical then you need to read every word of this
article!
When I was in high school I had no idea of the best leg workouts to jump higher. I was actually told by
a few of my friends that jumping was all to do with genetics and there was nothing I could do to
increase my vertical. For a while I believed them, until I watched a video on the internet of some 5'5"
guy dunking after learning to jump higher! Now I am 5'8" so if he could do it then I knew I could!
So it was just a question of finding the most effective exercises for me in order to increase my
vertical. I had always dreamed of being able to dunk but for a guy my height I thought it would just
stay as a dream. However I thought I might as well give it a go, and I sorted through tons of exercises
and whittled it down to these three which got me the best results.
Speed Jumping: This is one of the top leg workouts to jump higher. Basically to perform this
effectively, you need to skip, very fast! This is a very intense exercise that will strengthen you fast
twitch muscle fibres in your legs. This is great because this will give you extra explosion when you
jump! Try to keep your sets below 10 seconds and rest in between sets as well so you put as much
effort in as possible.
Single Leg Push Off: Rest one foot on a box about 12" off the floor, whilst standing on your other foot
on the ground. Push off on the foot on the box and jump up as far as possible. Use your arms to
create swing and increased explosion too.
Squat: Now you didn't think I was going to forget this were you? This is the godfather of leg workouts
because it exercises basically all the muscles on your legs. Remember for this exercise you should
be lifting heavy weight with only a few reps each set. This will target maximum muscle gain in your
legs and you should be pretty sore the next day if you perform this right!
I have mentioned three great leg workouts to jump higher here, but there is one factor you have to
know if you want to seriously add inches to your vertical. how can you jump higher
