According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, more than 60,000 injuries are treated by hospital emergency rooms each year because of unsafe operation of power lawn mowers.

Children under the age of 15 are the most common victims!

Wear non-slip shoes, eye, and hearing protection.

Mow only in sufficient daylight.

Never mow wet grass.

Clear area of debris, which can be hurled out of the discharge at over 200 mph.

Keep people, pets and other obstacles out of the way.

Operate from the driver's seat only.

Never speed or allow passengers to ride along.

Always mow up & down an incline with a riding mower.

Always allow blade to stop completely before leaving the mower.

Never leave the mower while engine is running

Store gasoline in a proper container.

Never keep gasoline in the house or fill the gas tank indoors.

Wipe up gasoline spills immediately.

Fill the gas tank before starting. Never fill gas tank more than 3/4 full; gasoline expands in heat.

Never smoke when filling the gas tank.

Stay alert to your task and surroundings.

Always mow across an incline with a walk-behind mower.

Never adjust mower height, clean the grass chute, or remove the grass catcher with the engine running.

Never attempt to lift or repair mower with engine running.

Always stay clear of a hot engine — mufflers can be extremely hot.
