closed on Tuesdays with late opening

on Fridays until 8pm.

A castle town situated at the mouth of the Nishiki river. It's symbol the Kintai-kyo bridge

was constructed by Kikkawa Hiroyoshi, Lord of Iwakuni in 1673 during the Edo period. It is a five arch bridge,

and one of the three famous bridges of Japan.

Cherry blossom in the spring and cormorant fishing

in the summer only add to the attraction of

this bridge. Other places to see include Iwakuni Castle, Kikko Park,

and the white snake display.

Kokeshi dollsKokeshi, the most typical doll of northern Japan, have been made by woodturners at hot springs

throughout the region for almost 200 years. Dogwood and maple are the woods commonly used.

Just cylinders with round heads attached, the dolls are usually painted in floral designs and

basic colors, with non-toxic vegetable dyes. Thereare 10 basic styles of kokeshi,

but the variations are limitless. First made as toys for girls, the dolls

have become popular collectibles with adults.

Nightlife

Bar Milwaukee. An English-style pub in a basement that features darts,

foosball and a pool table. And a lot of Gaien men. Be careful upon entering;

the dart board is precariously close to the bottom of the stairs. Tokyo’s Club Yellow

Hakone, a scenic area near Mt. Fuji, is one of the most renowned hot

spring resorts in Japan. Among the resorts in the area,

Tenzan hot spring resort is one

of the most famous hot springs suitable for one day visits.

Tenzan is located in the hills near

Hakone-Yumoto, the terminal station of the

Odakyu line. Tenzan is an authentic hot spring

where you can enjoy Hinoki

(Japanese cypress) and open air baths as well as soba

and other varieties of Japanese cuisine.

Foreigners will be moved by the quiet Japanese atmosphere.

To get there takes about two hours by train from Tokyo.
